Our Values

 

Fair Business Alliance (FBA) Ltd is founded on key fundamental core values which strive for fair, transparent and honest business practices at all times. We strongly believe in sustainable development and poverty alleviation through fair trade and only work with partners who share these values. FBA is committed to:

 

 

  1. creating new opportunities and improve the livelihoods of farmers and producers in Latin America by enabling them to become part of a fair and ethical supply chain;
  2. supporting small producer groups to develop and market their products to reach buyers in the developed world;
  3. developing alliances with organisations across Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania who are looking to support international development and want ethically sourced and fairly traded products;
  4. reducing our impact on climate change and take the necessary steps to ensure that all our operations in the UK are carbon neutral by 2017;
  5. reinvesting its profits for the business and communities we work with, we are not driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders or owners;
  6. promoting a fair and friendly working environment.

Founder and Managing Director

Juan Andres Santelices

 

Juan Andres is a Forest Engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience of supporting international development through ethical, fair and sustainable trade. He created Fair Business Alliance in 2009. Keen to make a positive difference to people’s lives, Juan Andres saw an opportunity to apply his 15 years experience and skills in international development and sustainable trade to support small businesses in developing countries. He speaks English, German, Spanish and Portuguese.

 

Since 1995, he has built up experience working with third, second and primary level producer organisations, cooperatives, associations, small forest enterprises, fishing communities, certification bodies, governmental institutions, NGO’s, ethical financial institutions, importers, distributors and wholesalers.
